An Initiative to Support Holy Land Christians

Velma’s Dream is supporting Christian families in the Holy Land. The Catholic Women’s League (C.W.L.) of Canada and CNEWA are working together to bring Velma’s Dream to life.
Velma Harasen, C.W.L. national Past President, visited the Holy Land in 2010. Her eyes were opened to the struggles of local Christians, and she came back to Canada compelled to act. That is how Velma’s Dream was born.
Two projects are being supported. The Infant Welfare Centre in Jerusalem provides critical support to at-risk teenagers for them to stay in school. The Shepherd’s Field Hospital in Beit Sahour provides health care to the poorest mothers and babies, near Bethlehem where Jesus was born. (See details of these projects to the right.)
Velma’s Dream ensures that compassion, reconciliation and the loving face of Christ are present in a region that needs peace so badly.
We invite Catholic Women’s League members and the public at large to donate today.
To give to Velma’s Dream, you can send your cheque to CNEWA Canada at 1247 Kilborn Place, Ottawa, ON K1H 6K9 (for “Velma’s Dream”). You can also call 1-866-322-4441 or donate online.
